IBD 100

It was another good week on the IBD 100, with several nice gainers and few big decliners. MSB was the biggest gainer. This has been going practically straight up  since bouncing off the 200dma in July. It has a pivot point near 26 (about where the 50dma is now), and at some point may pull back near there to retest, but right now shows no sign of doing that. It has had 3 one day pullbacks in the last month and a half, which were really the only buying opportunities it has given. At this point any pullbacks are good for adding onto an existing position, but this is too extended to initiate a position. This came out of absolutely nowhere to become one of the strongest stocks n the market.

JKS was the second biggest gainer, and has been on this list several times. It hasn't been trading very long and hasn't really developed a pattern yet, but does appear to be slowing down a bit. a pullback to the 50dma might be a good entry point, but this one has too much of a "mania" feel for me.

Speaking of manias, GMCR was the biggest decliner. This is one that has, for over a year and a half, been attracting short sellers, who kept getting burned. Those who persisted got their pay off this week, when it was announced the SEC was investigating some funny business on their financial statements. This has so far had support at the 200dma, and I wouldn't consider getting into this unless it was right at the 200.

SVR was the second biggest decliner, and i a fairly common pattern I have been seeing lately: coming up to retest resistance, failing (this one actually did break out, but quickly failed), then pulling back on highvolume. This one hit the 50dma, and has so far held. The high volume would normally keep me away from this, but leading stocks seem to have been pulling back on high volume lately, only to reverse and head higher, so this might not be a bad entry point.

I haven't gotten my copy of IBD yet, so I don't have the distribution day count, although I don't think it is very high. If it is higher than I think it is (I blieve we are up to 2 now), I will let you know.
