Thursday Morning Update

Well, now I don't feel as much of a moron as I did yesterday. See that little rise after the market hit bottom? That is where I sold out of my last open positions, because I was convinced the market was really going to fall when that bounce ran out of steam. Instead, it went the other way, and I watched those stocks which I had just sold going higher. Well, this morning they dumped again, so maybe I'm not nearly the chump I felt like yesterday. I'm sure you would all love to hear more about my psychological state, but maybe I ought to get back to the market. So far, it looks like yesterday's reversal was just enough to scare the timid bears (like me) out, but today the carnage is resuming. The leading sectors this morning are XLU and XLP, the laggards XLE and XLB. The Nasdaq and Russell 2000 are both lagging. Oil is down, gold up, treasury yields down.

I have all of 10 new highs so far. EM is an acquisition rumor, so you can ignore that, but there are breakouts in KFT and AUY. Today is insanely busy with earnings. Reporting last night: CBOU down 3%, HCO up 0.3%, KS up 5.9%, LHCG up 10%, MELI down 11%, NEU up 1.3%, PNNT down 2.5%, TSO down 2.8%, WLT down 15%, WTI down 5.5%. Reporting this morning: BBG up 0.2%, DBLE down 2%, GPOR down 4.5%, GTIV down 6%,  HOS down 1.7%, LFUS down 13%, and PDC down 3.8%.

EDIT': Missed one from this morning. WNR is down 11%.
